We have been a bit slow to get started this year, so this is a fast first blog
We have to mention that we came through Schweich, Germany on our way skiing in Italy at the end of March to drop off the new carpet and underlay etc. Christoph, the yard owner greeted Max like an old lost friend ( big surprise!!).
Due to the high risk of flooding the whole campsite gets cleared and no boats on the marina at all.
Arrived in Schweich, (seems like an old friend now) in mid May to get her ready to go into the water. All seems good as we spend a few days getting her stocked up to leave for Toul.
As I have had to curtail my flowers this year, I have one box of herbs, and (god help me)… plastic flowers !!
Max had a quick check under the seating to see if we needed to buy any more gin before we left!! But we obviously had bought enough 5.40 euro bottles of gin last year!!!
The Best Kebab shop ever.. In Schweich no less,, enough to feed more than 2!! (5.5 euro)
NOT MEANING TO OFFEND ANYBODY,, but if you remember Max’s frustration with being stuck in Germany all last summer, we finally leave Schweich.
So finally off, Leaving Schwiech, (Trier) on the Moselle, a very quick trip to Luxembourg for fuel, straight up to Metz and then into Toul.
and Max’s new liquid refreshment fridge in the cockpit with varnish top to match the Ikea storage unit next to it. Works really well.
Beautiful sunset at Schengen and some will recognise our mooring spot at Metz below.
Caught up with old friends Jan and Bill, and new friends, Aileen and Graham from Snells Beach.
Always wondered how they moved the windmills and constructed them…
After 6 days we finally say goodbye to Toul, after some good social nights and head up towards Verdun, finally on our way up to Maastricht in Belgium to get quotes for Kiwi Rose to be painted. (only 3 years late).
Seen off by Jan and Bill. You think they would have done enough walking this year as they have just completed The Camino Trail in Spain.
