Start of Summer of 2015

We had an eventful winter, starting with Marie, our Riddell Rd neighbour visiting UK, and Max caught up with Peter Keane in London.

Then the amazing Poppy Exhibition at the London Tower…. Breath-taking!!!!

Then a quick 4 day visit to SCOTLAND. We flew to Glasgow and hired a car and headed up through Loch Lomond , then up to Fort William, via a distillery of course!!! The Glengoyne . It had an amazing bottle room showing the different colours of whiskeys as they age (difficult to see in the photo.). Have to say not Lucy's taste so somebody got more to taste than others!!! But we met a couple from Sweden who had come over to visit especially for their 60Th .

Then up past some ruins and the Eilean Donan Castle, and up to through the Highlands to Gairloch, right up high on the west coast.

Up and over the Highlands, in the best Scottish weather, ie, wet and windy and cold!!!!!!

Stayed with Peter and Lesley (lovely skiing buddies from Newcastle) in their cottage in Gairloch, and then made our way over to Drumnadrochit, and Loch Ness and Castle Urquhart.

Didn't find Nessie!!Then stayed the night with Lucy's Scottish cousin Hilary near Elgin, and made a detour past the battle fields of Culloden to Inverness for a flight back to Gatwick.(£19).

NOVEMBER saw us venture back to NZ for Emma's grad from Med School. Had a fantastic 3 days, with Claire flying in from Oz, Don & Elaine Robertson (Emmas' Godparents) and Chuck, Janet & Lisa Demeyer (Claires' Godparents) who all came to celebrate with us in Dunedin.

.

We had a great time in New Zealand, catching up with lots of friends and neighbours and even managed to see Maddie. And sad to say, she passed away this month, after living a very loved and pampered life with Steph and Ron, up in Matakna.

The first of many meet-ups of the winter from boating friends, Bill and Jan Caddey, and Bill & Min Jennings..

Xmas in Bournemouth with Dawn and Alvin.. Christmas Eve and then breakfast .

and then a slow winter as we had to cancel a ski trip to Kitzbuhl due to Max's nerve pain in his RT hip…. BUT not one to stay down for long, for Lucy's birthday we headed to Brussels and a medical conference for 4 days……. And Liz Jasper (Chichester) with a few of her cars in the garage!!!!!!

And of course the annual trip to Champoluc with the group from Chichester. The first night hats, then it just dis-intergrated after that. Drinks for lunch, pubs and of course cocktails!!!! And if we were lucky, some skiing. Good weather again and even had some fresh snow.

Then time to prepare for the summer, and renting out our flat to actors coming to work the summer season at Chichester Festival Theatre.
