After a 2 week intensive French course on Verdome, Warwick and Sam Hall join us for 10 days.
We picked them up from Dijon Train station, and despite the tom-tom, we had a slightly stressful car ride ( as max gently !!, backed into a young ladies car at a traffic lights… (don”t ask) ..) finally getting out of the city back to the boat moored at Ranchot.
Late night drinks and then a day stocking up and then a gentle journey down to Dole, one of our favourite places this year.
Sunday evening Jazz in Dole, a few glasses of Rose wine and glorious nibbles. Great music and warm weather.
Lucy’s sister Julia, left some lovely Grand cru wines, so our own tasting this night was the Julienas v Morgan. Both lovely mellow Beaujolais. (even looked at the wine map to check it all out)
Boys planning their bike trip of 20kms to get the car….And sometimes on other rides an neighbour with an electric bike pump is all you need.
What all the best french dogs are wearing…
AND Wok has found the boat of his dreams.. finally!!!!!!
Left Dole and spent a good few nights in St Jean de Losne. Still lovely and warm at 24 –26 in the evenings, so sitting out on the deck is no hardship.
We had a day trip out through the vineyards, trying to do some wine-tasting on the way with little success. ( unless you count the one Sam quite liked at 30 euros.. We visited Nuits-St-George, and then onto beautiful town of Beaune for lunch.
… Max’s new hair, mustashe, and ????? cut…And the boys cleaning the boat.
Sat night we saw an amazing display of fireworks over the river here in St Jean de Losne,... the French like any excuse to have them..This one was for Assumption Day( sorry no photos). So far this year we have seen 5 amazing displays of fire works.
Sunday Terry and Colleen Moorhead arrive …and the Americas cup starts…. These IPADS are incredible… we can watch live racing from USA.
How the Mighty have fallen, but its all tastes just as good, ( well nearly!!) and it chills quicker out of the cardboard.
Wok and San and Colleen and Terry overlapped for 2 nights. Luckily we have met some super people, Steve and Helen who have a luxury B&B barge where Wok and Sam were able to stay on the last two nights.
, Lucy and Colleen sampling…., and the boys helping each other with the BBQ.
GEEZ , its a tough life, and even tougher for the flies!!!!! Sunset over the marina.
